Elia and Troy
Wedding Celebration
December 12, 2021
It all started when…
Troy and Elia met on Hinge in 2019, a typical millennial couple connecting via the world wide web. Their first date plan was to go swimming at Deep Eddy Pool in Austin. On the way there, Elia noticed there was actually a huge storm rolling in. When she met Troy for the first time, standing outside of the pool entrance, it was about to pour rain on them and the pool was sadly closed. Instead, they went to Pool Burger for a bite to eat and a beer, which turned into three beers.
Flash forward a couple of months and Elia brazenly invited Troy to join her on a solo trip she had previously planned to Europe. He bravely accepted and not long after, they went on their very first trip as a couple…all the way across the world! First, Troy traveled to meet Elia in Germany, then they went on to Vienna to traipse around museums and take in the opera. Finally, they took the train to Prague, where Elia stayed on to enjoy a week of solitude in a foreign land.
Not long after, they enjoyed their first holidays together and rang in the new year—2020! A new decade! New hope! Plans to move in together when the summer came around! Well, things didn’t exactly go as planned, but they did move in together in Elia’s home in South Austin. Living together for the first time during an unprecedented global pandemic was a great test to see if their love would go the distance. And they decided it would.
Earlier this year, Troy proposed at a picnic in the park on a sunny day in September, with a ring designed by Elia and made by a local jeweler in Austin. She obviously said, “Yes!”
We can’t wait to celebrate this new chapter of our lives together with our loved ones!
